Business Development / Sales Executive
Our client provides medical and safety solutions for those operating in remote or hazardous environments worldwide.
They are looking to complement their small North American Business Development (BD) and Sales team with an experienced BD / Sales professional based in Calgary.
The position will have significant autonomy and report to the President of North America also based in Calgary.
The base salary is in the range of $85,000 to $100,000 - depending on the candidate's qualifications - plus there is some upside in the form of an annual performance bonus based on the achievement of certain qualitative and quantitative goals.
Travel across Canada will be required about for about 15 - 25% of the time.
Clients include oil and gas companies, mining companies and construction and engineering companies. Most client projects are located in Northern and Western Canada at this point.
They have seven partnerships with First Nations across Northern Canada through which a significant portion of the business is sold.
They use a fairly structured BD and sales process that is supported by a sophisticated database.
Responsibilities of the position include: 1) identifying new project opportunities; 2) developing, maintaining and expanding client relationships; 3) responding to RFPs; 4) developing written bids/proposals; 4) negotiating and closing sales; 5) working with the Finance team to develop pricing; and 6) working with the Operations team to enable successful execution of client projects.
Requirements
Must-haves are:
· At least seven years BD/sales experience
· Outstanding interpersonal and verbal communication skills
· Proven negotiation skills
· Very good written communicates skill for bid/proposal writing
· An established track record in developing clients and closing sales with oil and gas clients and/or mining clients and/or construction and engineering clients in Canada.
Assets would be:
· A network of client contacts relevant for the provision of medical and/or HSE services to clients in these sectors
· Experience in dealing with First Nations partners
· Knowledge of medical services, ideally in the remote industrial environment
· Knowledge of HSE services
· Fluency in French.
