Our client is a leading health solutions provider.  Due to continued growth and the integration of their lines of business, the following opportunity is available.

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for generating revenue and achieving individual sales targets within an assigned territory by offering a variety of human solutions both direct and through channel partners.  Some travel is required.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·         Sales to small and mid-size accounts

·         Management of up-sell and cross-sell activity within their customer base.

·         Develop strategic relationships with key contacts from prospects and/or third party advisors

·         Developing and executing of a regional business plan for assigned region(s)

·         Demonstrating an ability to leverage resources and strategically manage the growth of customer relationships

·         Participating in the generation of new business for the small and midsize book of business within a multi-channel distribution network.

·         Initiating contact with organizational prospects and/or third party advisors, delivering proposals and presentations

·         Participating fully in National Sales Campaigns and regional conferences Coordinating of sales events

 

Qualifications

Ideal candidates possess a University degree or college diploma, combined with 8+ years of experience in business development or in a business development support role. Experience in Human Resources, Benefits Consulting or related health fields is an asset. Your strong interpersonal skills and solid written and oral communication skills will lead to success in this role. You possess strong organizational skills, professional maturity and are a strategic thinker. You are a team player, and your excellent time management skills allow you to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation

Job Summary:

 

Reporting to the District Sales Manager, the Territory Sales Rep is accountable for profitable revenue growth and sales of products and services to designated customer and prospect accounts within an assigned geographic territory.  Achieve sales success by analyzing customer needs and providing solutions. Under supervision, develop and implement sales plans, sell products, provide customer support and ensure the successful installation and transition of accounts to the service team.

 

Essential Job Functions 

 

·         Achieve annual sale targets by working with the District Sales Manager, Senior District Sales Manager and Field Sales Manager to establish selling strategy and tactics. Obtain orders and establish new accounts; plan and organize daily work; call on potential customers. Analyze customer needs, requirements and strategic plans while recommending solutions. Keep management informed through regular activity reports and communications. Meet all expectations and activities for Territory Sales Representatives.

·         Call on customer facilities, observe and implement practical application of products. May be accompanied by sales management personnel on sales calls.

·         Meet the Average Weekly Rental (AWR) Revenue quota (minimum of $85.00/AWR).

·         Meet or exceed the required minimum daily sales calls as set by the District Sales Manager.

·         With assistance from senior sales personnel and the District Sales Manager, develop and execute area sales plans.

·         Understand customer needs in order to improve the overall quality of goods and services delivered. Document, for the customer, the value of goods and services provided.

·         Maintain Siebel customer opportunity detail, pipeline report and other required reports or documents.

·         Other duties as assigned.

 

 

Requirements:

 

·         Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales or Marketing preferred, or equivalent combination of education and work experience

·         2 - 3 years sales-related experience

·         Industry work experience preferred

POSITION DETAILS

To support their expanding product line and customer base, our client is seeking an entrepreneurial minded Business Development Manager to cultivate new business opportunities primarily in the retail vertical.

RESPONSIBILITIES

You will formulate a strategic business plan to build business within the retail space primarily when new stores are planned for construction. Whether it be a big box store or a boutique, a mall or a manufacturing plant, the opportunity exists to provide them with the best storage solution for their needs.

If you possess the unique combination of hunter mentality and account management skills we'd love to hear from you. We'd be interested to hear your story of how you mapped out your territory, prospected, gained customer interest, closed business and grew your client base.

Industry experience is not required but those who have sold in a complex, team sales environment that required project management skills and coordinating support staff (engineers, designers) at various stages of the sales cycle, would be highly relevant. In addition, you're capable of making critical decisions with your clients whether it be a troubleshooting issue or a pricing one.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Successful candidates will have a minimum of 3 years successful outside sales experience (or experienced inside sales person looking for outside opportunity) in an industrial or commercial setting. In addition, you must possess excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, and be skilled at building business relationships. The BDM's must have good knowledge of their territory and its customer base, develop a solid territory business plan, and effectively cover their territory.
